The morning has come I set in the stillness of the room and remember the
gift that slipped into my life 15 years ago...Thumbalina. She was the tiniest and last one borne of Babe.
Black and tan, weak but a fighter from the first day of
life 27 March 1982. A little gift that grew into a strong
beautiful shepherd; agile, quick and loving to all but fiercely
loyal to her Mama. Always my shadow following in my footsteps. You can email Patricia here

She is missed dearly by owners Fred & Patricia Wilhelme.
The gift grew and played, she had many for company, her
dog mom Babe, brother Max, Lady and her companion big sister
Pepper.
As the years passed she watched, with us as God took
each one home finally she lost her sister last, Pepper left
two years ago. Finally the house was quieter, no more joyous
romps with canine family. She was alone and she grieved for them.
Instead of denying the humans she embraced her Mama,
Daddy and Frederick with more love.
We all watched as time took it's toll, the muzzle whiter,
the gait unsteady. But those eyes still bright, shining and full
of great unconditional love. The ears still heard the footfall
of Frederick coming home from school and Daddy's homecoming each
day. She waited for the questions "How's my girl today" and "I
love you Poodie Girl".
Her joys were simple and few, first and most important
her family, rides in the car, Walmart "runs", peanut butter
crackers, shortbread cookies, her pillow.
She asked for nothing more but gave us volumes.
And on Tuesday, 17 Feb 98, she lost her courageous
battle to remain with the family she loved. Surrounded by
the family she adored she went back to God the gift returned.
She was held in her Mama's arms in the end and now she rests
in His.
No more pain or age only youth and health
and joyous reunion with all those who went before her
and waited anxiously for her. Kiss them for me Thumby,
Mama's angel and wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge so we
can be together again. I love you.
