Sabre
Sabre came into our lives October 15th 1985 and stayed with us to April
11th 1999.
I'll always remember going to the animal pound and finding a little two
month old bundle of fur. Sweet little Sabre you were so sick, the vet
told us to take you back to animal control and get another puppy. We
couldn't do that. So we nursed you and gave you so much love that
within a month you were so healthy you were able to get your shots.
Then you grew and grew into this wonderful 70 pound German Shepherd
mix. The vet thought you were German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd,
we're still not sure, but that's not important.
You were my constant companion, my four-legged soul mate. You gave us
so much love and joy. When Jason graduated from college and I drove the
van all the way to Oakland to bring him home you were my driving
companion. I felt safe with you beside me. And you were so silly when
we reached Oakland and there was Jason you just jumped and rolled all
over the place.
I didn't think you would ever leave us. You were only supposed to be at
the vet's for the weekend for observation. I was going to pick you up
on Monday, instead the doctor called and said you had passed away. I
have never felt pain like this. My heart is broken, I cry for you
constantly. My sweet Sabre I miss you so very, very much. I still have
your bed by our bed I can't put it away yet. I can still smell you when
I breathe on your bed. Sometimes when I'm upstairs I find myself
listening for you to come upstairs.
Sabre we will always love and remember you. We miss you so very much.
One day I know we will all meet again, what a joyous day that will be.
Love you forever
Margaret and Raynard
