These beloved dog friends shared the home and hearts of Dennis and Nancy Raichart for many happy years. Katie and Princess left empty spaces in our home and hearts that time will never fill. Also missed by Lisa, Darren, and Natalie and dog friends Susie, Daisy, and Carla.

Katie assumed the role of "loyal protector of Nancy" and made friends in her own time. Katie also had the appointed role of telling mom and dad when it was time to go outside. She had a free spirit and would run with the wind when she had the opportunity. Miss Independence, we called her.

Princess loved everyone immediately, and never saw a stranger. She was rescued from an animal shelter, and she was hoarse from barking until we rescued her. Princess loved attention and gave kisses freely to everyone close to her. Princess took on the role of telling everyone when it was time to eat and when it was time for dog treats. She was also known as "Daddy's Favorite Dog", although we never said this in front of Katie.

Katie was the more intelligent dog, while Princess was the more friendly dog, each bringing their own personal balance to our family. Right now, we are lopsided. No Katie to tell the others when to go out, and no Princess to tell the others when it is time to eat. We each have to learn new roles.

We were blessed with the love of these dog friends, forever buried in our hearts.
