Nemo

Just wanted to let everyone know, little Nemo slipped away today at 4:30 pm..

She succumbed to heart failure, brought on by lymphoma cancer. She was brought to the vet with respiratory problems, and cancer was found throughout her lungs and liver, with a "mass" in her abdomen. One half hour after being informed of the possibility of chemotherapy, with a 70% success rate, her little(big) heart gave out before they could start. All of Nemo's doctors (Black, Tryban and Bruner) tried very hard to save her.

She slipped away very quickly without pain.

Cancer reared its ugly head less than two weeks ago, while she was leading a normal and happy doggie life. The symptoms attacked quickly, and with more discomfort than pain. She was having problems walking and stamina, so she was wheeled around the neighbourhood in her own custom baby stroller. Sue and I stayed up with her all night so that she would not be scared or slip away alone. She seemed to enjoy spending lots of time outdoors, so we sat out on the porch and grass the last several days.

Nemo has had an interesting year, spending several months in Arizona with Sue her friend Diane on the job meeting all forms of wild life including coyotes, gila monsters, rattlesnakes, and the most memorable, jumping cactus.

She is survived by her brother Caesar(Weener), her Mom and Dad, and her baby-sitter Pat. Nemo gave us twelve wonderful years and we will miss her very much.

She will be buried tomorrow under a tree overlooking a pond in Clarkston, Michigan (at Diane's place), and a engraved stone will mark her spot for eternity.

Let us all hope for little Nemo that there are only slow squirrels in heaven. Brian & Sue
