Missie Mohle
Jan. 1, 1982 - Mar. 12, 1999
Missie was a purebred Toy Fox Terrier. I can't even remember what her "show
dog" name on her papers was, but from the moment I saw her as a little 6-week
old puppy, I knew in my heart she was "Missie". For 17 years she was my best
friend and companion. She was spoiled rotten, but we loved her that way. She
usually ate a better dinner than I did! She has been my confidant, my bratty
little sister, and the only true constant in my life until her last days. No
matter what, she always loved me, and she always made me feel loved. I know
that my parents and I did our best to give her a healthy, happy life. Her
passing leaves a hole in my heart so deep...there is no way to describe the
pain I feel.
She wasn't just a pet, not just an animal. She was our family
member who could get away with anything. She was an intelligent dog with a
very well-developed sense of humor. When I try to think about what to type so
that everyone in the world can get a good idea of who she was, I get flooded
with memories, stuck in a whirlwind of emotion that makes me feel a little
light-headed. Just trust my judgement when I tell you there was never a better
puppy than my Missie.
She lived a happy 17-years, and after a short period of
appearing "old", she died peacefully in her sleep. Thanks goes to Meyerland
Animal Clinic and Little Friends Pet Memorial in Houston, Texas, and to the
Burnamans, her breeder, who knew just which little bundle of love would be
right for our family. Missie may be gone, but she will never be forgotten, nor
loved any less.
