Champion Whitecliff's Sausalito Lily 11/29/82 - 6/4/97
Lily was awarded her American Kennel Club championship in San Rafael, CA at the Sir Francis Drake Kennel Club show on September 13, 1987. She was a wonderful family companion and the best dog I ever had. We have many memories and pictures, as well as two sweaters, knitted from her fur from combings that were saved, carded, and spun into yarn. The picture was taken at her finishing, with the handler and judge removed by Photoshop software. Lily was euthanized just before her sixteenth birthday due to complications of old age.
Whitecliff's Isbjorne Suuri, 11/1/84 - 7/12/97
Lily's companion puppy, Whitecliff's Isbjorne Suuri, known as 'Suuri' was a constant companion to Lily and always close to her. A few weeks after Lily's death, Suuri developed diabetes. Despite daily injections of insulin, it was impossible to keep his symptoms within control. One day he fell into a pond and almost drowned, and shortly after was euthanized.
Both Lily and Suuri are burried in our front yard, still close together. There is a white lily planted over Lily's site, and a white pine planted over Suuri.
