Jenny

Only after a year has passed are we now able to discuss our Jenny without crying. And only those of us who have loved and been loved unconditionaly by an animal can understand the depth of the loss and grief.

Our Jenny was a feisty and comical puppy, and also into her adult life. She trained us starting the first day she arrived home at 8 weeks old. We had our rules all set up before she got here... we were NOT going to let her sleep in our bed. The lonely cries and drama the first week changed our rules, she slept well on the foot of the bed. (Jenny's charm was balanced by an iron will).

Jenny was sweet and accepting . She was the alpha dog and reigned in our pack for almost 13 years. We miss so many things about Jenny. We miss her closeness the most; the warmth and scent of her body, her morning kisses on our eyes, the softness of her silky Beagle ears, her unwavering devotion to us, seeing her beautiful little face at the window...welcoming us home again.

The past year we often wondered if the joy of loving a pet-person outweighs the grief and heavy saddness of their loss. We enjoyed Jenny for what seemed a very short time, and will miss her the rest of our very long life.

We look to Jenny's star and feel connected. We hope that her new trails are lined with boneless chicken breasts, prepared by the loving hands of our friends and family that have passed before us! Until again... LOVE.
