Rebound
6/21/00-3/16/03
"Although the stars are much brighter, the glow in my heart fades"
My tribute is to a dog who lived a simple yet very meaningful life. Rebound was a
120lb full-bred male golden retriever who could have reeked terror but chose to love instead.
He was a courageous, smart, and determined dog but most of all he was my friend who never left my side.
The numbness still remains from your quick and unexpected departure and we all struggle to see the logic
in all this but I guess there will ever be a logical reason for losing someone like you. I have never
seen a dog as large as you, be friends with all the squirrels in the neighborhood. You always had a
way to make everyone around you feel protected as well as comfortable.
I've never felt the loss of
a pet the way I am feeling this with you and it hurts every day more than anyone could imagine.
You were too young to be taken from us and I miss you terribly but I understand to love is to
eventually lose and I am grateful for the 3 years we had together.
After you left us, the vet told us they didn't know what had happened to cause your death.
A 'mystery illness' as they put it, but know they did all they could do for you and I made sure of that!
Just know this, Rebound: We all miss you tremendously, and your loss is felt more places than you or I
would ever had imagined, and know there may be other dogs in the future but never another REBOUND.
The loss of Rebound, is to some, just a part of life and although it is sad,
they say life will go on. To me, I have a void in my heart that I'm not ever sure will go away.
I write this so maybe another grieving pet owner will know that they are definitely not
alone and to let everyone know that there was a dog named Rebound who lived in Rome, Ga who had so much love to give.
"I miss you more than breathe and will love you forever"
