Princess
Princess is an American Eskimo that my wife and I got one year after
marriage. She was 9 weeks old and 4 pounds. We lived in two houses in
Rochester, NY before moving to Palm Bay, Fl in 1997. She was with us at
all times, and loved to start off in bed with us each evening, laying on
top of my wife for a few "Nite-Nite Kisses".
After the first of this
year, she started to go downhill, having problems eating and with
arthrytis in her back legs. In February, we took her to the vet and
thought we were going to have to put her to sleepo on Valentine's Day.
However, the vet found a heart problem and gave us meds to give her and
we tried for a while. Then she could not see, could not hear, and was
getting up in the middle of the night and bumping in to things. She would
stand with her head against the wall and we would make her have to move.
I finally took her in Feb 27th and spoke to the vet about something
Princess did not have - Quality of Life. We decided to put her out of her
misery. It was the hardest thing I've had to do in my life. We are,
however, getting her ashes in an urn with a beautiful copy of "Rainbow
Bridge" to put with it. We miss her so much! It's only been a week and a
half.
Princess, please enjoy yourself where you are, and wait for us at
the Bridge. We love you and miss you, Mom and Dad
