Jake

Jake is fondly missed by Peter, Lee Ann, Jenni, and his sister Chase.

Jake and Chase came into our home 8 years ago, just 5 week old, Border Collie/Terrier pups. Initially we had picked Chase from a litter of pups, owned by another family member, but Jake decided that he should come along. He was hiding inside my jacket, so when it was time to go, he crawled into my sleeve, and stayed there till we got home. He loved to antagonize his sister going after toys or treats that she had. They would play back and forth for hours.

He was the co-pilot on road trips. If I was driving, he had to be on the console, or in the back seat making sure that the trip was going well. He was "the dog in charge", so he thought.

Besides his sister, we have 2 female cats, so Jake had a few challenges with all the females. This is one reason that Jake and I were "Bud" drinkin' buds. On a hot summers day, Jake and I would escape to the deck, and have a cold pop or two, and hide out from the females. Jake was a great friend to all of us.

From the scene of the accident, it was obvious that Jake was the victim of a hit and run. You never know the value of some friends until they're gone. We love you Jake!!!
