Jemma

Jemma was already 10 years old when I met her for the first time. By then she had given my husband years of love, companionship and devotion. She very quickly became a central part of my life too. A Kelpie cross, Jemma loved nothing more than chasing the frisbee, swimming to retrieve a stick or going for long walks with us on weekends. She especially loved to cuddle up on cold winter nights and was always ready with a lick and a wagging tail when we felt down.

Gradually, as the years passed she grew greyer, her eyes glazed a little and she became almost completely deaf! That horrible day came when we knew we could no longer give her the life she so richly deserved, her kidneys simply stopped working and she grew sicker and sicker.

It was the hardest and saddest decision we have ever made. Jemmy was at home and we were with her when she went to Dogstar and although it was almost 2 years ago we still miss her every single day. We spread some of her ashes on her favourite white beach sand and the rest will travel with us where ever we go for the rest of our lives. Jemma was a very special dog and I know she's waiting for us when it comes our turn to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

We love you Jemmy.
