Cera

I am only 15 years old, and I don't remember my life without Cera in it.

Just today, July 19th, my family and i had to euthanize Cera due to her lack of quality in life. Cera was a full breed German Shepherd with those big brown eyes that would love anyone they saw. Cera was going to be 14 years old on August 15th, the same birthday as my brother and Grandpa, but we had noticed in the past year or so that Cera wasn't the dog she used to be.

When I first noticed that Cera was going downhill, I was sitting in my living room watching TV and called Cera to me, I had to call about 4 or 5 times and when she finally heard me, she could hardly get up, we later found out her eardrums were thickening so that she couldnt hear, and that she had Arthritis in her back hip bones.

We got her on some medication that seemed to help all the way up until last week, when Cera nearly broke her leg by just trying to stand up, her leg got caught underneath her, and she didn't even notice, she didn't know why she couldn't get up. We made the decision there that it was Ceras' time, we made the hardest call I think I will ever have to make, Cera was going to be euthanized in 4 days.

She has had the best life we could have given her, and she made our lives so much brighter, so I think she deserves to have a seat in the stars, so she can look down on us and be the happy dog that she once was.
