Indy
Indy was diagnosed with Lymphoma in early Febuary.
Chemotherapy was not advised for a dog his age, but he was placed on a
steroid-treatment and a high protein diet of Cainine n/d, liver, hamburger
and scrambled eggs. For his last month, Indy did not know he was sick.
The steroids made him play like he was five years old again and he was fed like a king.
Indy was able to leave the world with dignity and grace, after a wonderful weekend
of unseasonably warm weather in Colorado.
Indy, a 12 year old Lab and Retriever mix, passed
away on Sunday morning, February 24 2002.
He ate Top Sirlon steak and also had eggs and sausage that morning.
The previous day he spent playing and digging the soft sand in the Platte River
and catching tennis balls, with his younger dog buddy Spooner,
enjoying the beautiful 76 degree weather in Denver, CO.
Indy was a incredibly happy and friendly big boy whose nickname was "Fuzzy Bear".
He passed away gently, happily thinking he was going to go swimming again that day.
