Monty

Montgomery, who was called Monty for short, was a Yorkshire Terrier Poodle. Monty was a small dog, about 8 lbs. He had short black hair, with his undercoat blonde. There some pieces of Reddish brown on his fur here and there.

What to say about a dog who seemed more like a family member. He would cock his head to one side and occasionally an ear would stand up straight when he heard a noise. Every little sound that he heard would lead to him jumping up to sit on the couch and look out the window. He would scratch at the window and bark at anyone who was anywhere near his window. The Schwan man, the mailman, garbagemen, parcel post and anyone else.

Monty lived to be about 8 1/2 years, before he was hit by a truck in our neighborhood on November 20, 2001.

He followed Mom wherever she went. Down the hall, up the hall, in the living room, in the kitchen and even into the bathroom. Our love for him will never cease. Through all the crazy and "naughty" things that he has done, we never wished him away. He kept us sane.

If anyone tried to hurt us, including each other, he went after them.
