Gwenie

We would like ot request a dog star for our beloved pet whose long life was ended on December 26, 2000. Our dog was Gwenie, a black Newfoundland who was very much a part of our lives. As a puppy she decided that she didn't want to live in a pen outside but decided to take up residence in our laundry room where she would be an active memeber of our family. She was an outstanding guard dog when our two children were little. She kept my husband warm the first year we had her when we had an ice storm and he needed to stay behind to make sure that the pipes did not freeze. She kept my husband and son company when our daughter was born and needed to be sent to a special hostpital for her breathing problems. She protected her when she came home. She was my companion when they were at school and work. People were very impressed with her size and gentleness. Gwenie was there when my borther passed away and would sit beside me for hours trying to comfort me. When my mother -in-law passed away that same year she was there again. She was a great dog and will be missed terribly.
