Bwana
The first of our breed , the oversized male pup who would have been culled
in any other litter of Rhodies at the time, he had no ridge, his feet were
huge and he was only being kept to help the bitch with her milk production
since the litter had been small but the milk was plentiful. MY husband heard
the breeder explain this pup would be put down in a few days once the bitch
was "balanced".
Bwana grew to be a wonderful family member , he was huge
with a heart to match , he took his job of raising our young daughters very
seriously and he instilled in us a deep love of the Rhodesian Breed. Bwana
lived with us for nearly 14 years, was adored and we still grieve for him .
When we began showing dogs we whispered into each new show pup's ear "If you
have half the heart and some of the Soul of Bwana You are already a
Champion!!"
Our Kennel was named for the pup who should not have been and
our policy is heart and soul then form and function.....We know Bwana has
gone to the Dog Star and we smile watching the evening skies.
