Casey

Our dog Casey was put to sleep today. He was 16 years old and lived a very full life. I feel so absolutely saddened that this had to happen, although it is inevitable, when the day comes, it is so, so hard.

My husband and I tearfully said goodbye to Casey Jones and our four year old son, not having the full understanding of death, gave my husband some maple trees leaves to bury with him -- and asked me if we had a picture of him. I said yes and he said: "Mama, this will help us remember him." I totally lost it after that.
