Glinda
Glinda was born on March 10, 1984, in a town on Long Island.
She was an English Springer Spaniel. At her breeders she was called
Liver Lady, for a brown spots. We , the Humphrey family, adopted her
and brought her to her new home in Tuxedo Park, New York.
Tuxedo Park was the best place for a dog. There, Glinda would chase
deer, and other animals. She would also go running up Eagle Mountain,
frequently running into the woods to chase an animal.
In 1987, w
e moved to Atlanta, Georgia, but not downtown, in a little area o
utside the city. we had a pool in the backyard there, where she
would take a few swims. There weren't as many animals to chase, but
she was still content.
Again, in 1990, we moved north to
Glen Ridge, New Jersey. There, there were lots of squirrels to chase,
and friends to make. Even from Glen Ridge, we would take the 45 minute
drive to Tuxedo Park, where we would still clime Eagle Mountain, and
Glinda doing her thing.
Unfortunately, in the Spring of 1998, she
had a stroke, which left here head tilted to one side, also due to
an infection. She made it through this. Then, in the fall, something
happened again, and she did get better. But, In mid December, she got
worse.
Then, the sad day of December 17, 1998, came. Glinda passed away painlessly in her sleep. That day, we all grieved the loss of our beloved Glinda. Glinda brought joy to everyone who met her,
for she was very friendly. And, we brought joy to her.
So, we knew it had to happen sometime. So, when it did,
it was painless, and that was all we could ask for.
We ask that you keep Glinda in your heart, even if you have never met her, for she was absolutely the best, and most perfect dog that ever has, and ever will walk the face of the earth.
