Ginger

My dogs name was Ginger the Luv Muffin
April 11, 1988 to December 23, 1998
I remember as kid, the people that rented from my parents had just lost their
dog and they were telling my parents about what had happened to Tippy. They
were crying their eyes out. I just watched and listened. After they left, I
asked my parents "what's the big deal?" "It's only a dog." Ginger the Luv
Muffin taught me what I did not know back then.
She was with me through
divorce, loss of a sister to cancer, loss of job, loss of a home, whenever I
felt bad, Ginger was always there to comfort me. She was also with me during
all of the good times as well. There to share in my happiness. All she ever
asked me for in return for her unconditional love is a kind hand, fresh food
and water and a warm bed. She even saved my life one day when I left the gas
on the stove on. She sat there barking at the stove until I came downstairs
and turned the gas off.
Dec. 21, 1998 was just another day, I had finished
playing with my friend and was working on my computer when I heard a thud and
she came running out to me. She got sick, and because it was late I took her
to bed with me. In the morning she couldn't stand and I took her to the vet.
Later, when I picked her up they said not to worry it's just a neurological
attack that they recover from. Later that same day she started having
seizures. I paged the vet. He told me to take her to the emergency room.
At
2:30 am on 12/23 I received the call that I prayed to God would not come.
Ginger had taken a turn for the worse and there was nothing more they
could do
for her. I went to visit her and as the Doctor added the answer to my Luv
Muffin's problem in her IV I laid my head next to her and told her how much I
loved her and in a matter of moments, the best friend that I have ever known
was gone. I miss you Ginger and I love you so much. During our time
together
I learned a lot from this little dog. I also learned that, "they are NOT
JUST
DOGS." Good bye little friend, I'll pick you up at the Rainbows Bridge.
"I will never forget you Luv
Muffin, you are now in my heart for eternity."
